Fishing at West Moore Island
Surrounded by three diverse ecosystems, West Moore Island naturally boasts the most sensational environment any angler could imagine for fishing Western Australia.
Staying true to our eco-tourism ethos, we preserve the natural environment and fishing sustainability of the area by restricting the number of guests on the island to a maximum of 12 people. That means our guests can enjoy the pastime or sport they feel passionate about with plenty of room to breathe.
West Moore Island Fishing Lodge serves up beach fishing, reef fishing, creeks and even blue water similar to Exmouth fishing charters.
Dinghy fishing
Guests can choose DIY fishing from our well-equipped dinghies, which will safely take them around the island, into the creeks and to other fished-filled ground. The use of these dinghies, fuel and bait is included in our tariff and they are available to guests over 18 who hold a current Recreational Skippers Ticket and Recreational Fishing From Boat Licence. If you're planning to take a dinghy out to fish around the island you can expect to pull up mangrove jack, whopping GT's, permit, estuary cod, coral trout, chinaman cod, threadfin salmon, different species of mackerel and plenty of hard-pulling trevally. For WA locals who have mainly been fishing Exmouth, the Mackerel Islands and other similar areas, West Moore Island Fishing Lodge will be a refreshing change with heaps of different territory to explore.

Fishing charters
Our 54' charter vessel is large enough to ensure you won't waste your precious fishing time untangling lines! With years of fishing experience, our hosts will have you schooled up on Pilbara fishing in no time. Unlike the more crowded Broome fishing area and Exmouth fishing area our charter vessel pretty much has the whole place to herself. Expect to reel in anything from massive golden trevally, big reds, snapper, cobia, huge chinaman cod and tuna to name but a few. We'll happily put together a charter package to suit any group, so please call us for more details.
